This short hiking trail offers access to Mud Lake and meanders along an esker jutting far out into the water. The trail goes through an open hardwood forest and comes upon the shore, offering nice views of the surrounding forest and access for fishing or a canoe launch. This is an easy hike with lovely views, and the opportunity to see Bald Eagles, which are known to nest on the shores of Mud Lake.
Check the DEC website for updates on fishing regulations and Bald Eagle repopulation projects.
