The trail starts at the red gate and heads northwest along the dirt road. Keeping to the left, you will pass an intersection at about .5 miles. Soon you will see the first views of pine pond on your left. At .6 miles you will find a clearing on the left, this is the location of once busy sawmill. Continuing northwest past the pond you will reach another gate at 1.1 miles. Another .1 mile (or 1.2 miles from the start) you will reach the main road. Turn left (South) here and follow the road back to were you parked,1.6 miles away.
The trails are brushed out and easy to follow. There are plenty of signs of wildlife here, especially deer and bear.

Follow this road for 7.5 miles, going past Horseshoe lake and crossing the railroad tracks. There will be a road to your right with a red gate a few hundred feet down the road. Park at the split. Take care to not block the gate or road.
*NOTE* This road eventually turns to dirt, and is only seasonally maintained. If you visit this trail in the winter, you will have to park where the plowing ends and ski or snowshoe to the trailhead.
