This difficult yet rewarding ride truly has a taste of all St. Lawrence County has to offer road cyclists. Climb from the St. Lawrence Valley across the “blue line” and into the Adirondack Hills and the pristine wilderness of the White Hill Wild Forest. From there, you’ll be greeted by lush pine forest and clear Adirondack reservoirs. You’ll descend back into the St. Lawrence Valley and into rolling lowland farmland and hardwood forest. This ride is very front heavy on climbing, but can be cut short at several intervals. Plenty of county highways lead back to Canton and are well marked with highway signage.
For food and water along the route: Cedar Lodge in Parishville; Red Pine Cone, Mahogany Ridge Restaurant and Boyce’s General Store in South Colton; Kunoco Food Mart in Russell; and Fobare’s Fruits in Rensselaer Falls.
