Coney Mountain (elevation 2,265') is an ideal option if you are looking for a short hike with great views. The 1-mile trail winds gradually around the mountain through dense pine forest and over open ledge on the summit. The bare summit offers one of the best 360-degree views in the region.
This trail is within Horseshoe Lake Wild Forest and is managed by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.
